The museum houses a variety of facilities for the visitors to enjoy Kyoto’s gourmet and shopping while experiencing the beauty of Kyoto’s traditional townhouse architecture and the modern history of Japan. These facilities include “Museum Shop” on the 1st floor of the Main Hall, “Roji Tempo,” a series of shops housed in the restored facade of a late Edo period machiya (Kyoto’s traditional townhouse), “Bekkan Tempo,” a group of shops utilizing the Western-style architecture of the Meiji period, and a café utilizing the old bank vault.
