The Film Theatre brings us the visual culture, with special monthly programs in from different perspectives. In addition to the regular twice-daily screenings of the classics and masterpieces of Japanese cinema owned by the Kyoto Prefectural Government on the museum’s open days, materials related to the featured films and explanatory panels are displayed in the lobby in front of the theater. The theater also occasionally hosts events such as film festivals in cooperation with various film-related organizations.
