Accessibility Information

For Visitors with Disabilities

  • ・Admission fees for both special and general exhibitions will be waived by presenting one of the followings: Physical Disability Certificate, Medical Rehabilitation Certificate, Mental Disability Certificate, Atomic Bomb Survivor Certificate, and Wounded and Sick Retired Soldiers Certificate (MIRAIRO ID “Disability Certificate App” acceptable).
  • ・Guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs are permitted.

For Visitors Using Wheelchairs

  • ・Rental wheelchairs available at the reception desk.
  • ・A wheelchair elevator is available on the premises.
  • ・A wheelchair-accessible bathroom is located on the 1st floor of the Main Hall.
  • ・A wheelchair ramp is located approximately 40 meters south of the main entrance on Takakura St. Call buttons for visitors in wheelchairs are located at the Takakura St. main entrance, the corner of Sanjo and Takakura streets, and the side entrance on Aneyakoji St.

For Visitors with Small Children

  • ・A rental baby carriage is available on the 1st floor. Check availability at the front desk.
  • ・Diaper changing tables are available in the men’s and women’s restrooms on the 1st floor of the Main Hall.
  • ・The First Aid room is available for breastfeeding. Please inquire at the front desk.

For Visitors with Hearing Impairments

Writing tools available at the reception.

AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

An AED is a medical device that uses an electric shock to revive the heart during cardiac arrest. There is one located at the 1st floor entrance of the Main Hall.

Ostomate Facility

An ostomate sink is available in the multi-purpose bathroom on the 1st floor of the Main Hall.

Other Notes

For Baggage and Coin-operated Lockers

  • ・Coin-operated lockers are available on the 1st floor of the Main Hall (100 yen refundable deposit required).
   

For Visitors from Overseas

  • ・Facility Summary Brochures are available in English, Chinese (Simplified), and Korean.
  • ・“Bunpaku Volunteer Guide” provides a guided tour of the exhibitions in the 2nd floor General Exhibition Hall. Bilingual staff (Japanese and English) is always available to assist you. For assistance in other languages, please make reservation in advance.
